About Kamarie Seebecker
Approach
I strive to show up authentically in every area of my life – especially in the therapy room. I believe authenticity is a key ingredient in building trust and opening ourselves up to the process of healing. Our best work happens when we feel safe to be our full selves, allowing us to explore our most wounded parts. In working with me, you can anticipate a collaborative, anti-oppressive, person-centered approach. Some theories that guide my work include Relational Systems Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy. These perspectives allow me to support your agency in the self-discovery journey and guide you towards living in alignment with your true self. I’m here to help you find the fulfillment, joy, and peace you deserve!
Background
I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2023 from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where I also studied two minors in sociology and women’s and gender studies. I am currently working toward my Master of Science in Counseling at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. This is an accredited program by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP). I will be graduating in May of 2026 with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. After graduation, I plan to attain a Professional Counselor Training License (LPC-IT) and a Marriage and Family Therapist Training License (LMFT-IT) in the state of Wisconsin. Some of my clinical interests include cultural discourse, traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family dynamics, LGBTQ+ identities and experiences, sex and intimacy issues, emerging adulthood, and parenthood.
I am currently working under the supervision of Jennah Benson, a Licensed Professional Counselor (Lic # 11134-125) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Lic # 2323-124), and Shannon Doherty, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and AAMFT Approved Supervisor (Lic # 918-124).
